Mike Tudeen has over 20 years of executive leadership experience in healthcare services. The majority of Mike's career has been focused on high-risk population management, driven by a desire to improve the lives of individuals whose complex needs are under served by the traditional delivery system. Mike has been a pioneer in value driven, accountable healthcare. Mike has held key leadership positions within Healthways, National Seating & Mobility, INSPIRIS, and Optum. During Mike's tenure as CEO of INSPIRIS, he created partnerships with Medicare Advantage, Dual SNP, Managed Medicaid, and MLTC health plans to improve quality and satisfaction, while demonstrably reducing costs on high risk populations. While at Optum, Mike served as CEO of both INSPIRIS and Evercare. Evercare is the nation's largest custodial/LTC care management program delivering care to high-risk populations who reside in nursing homes.
Kirk brings 20 years of experience in health plan financial operations, care/disease management and advanced analytics to his role at PopHealthCare. Prior to joining PopHealthCare, Kirk served as the chief operating officer for Predilytics ,a next-generation healthcare predictive analytics company. Before that, Kirk served as both chief operating officer and chief financial officer roles at INSPIRIS and was part of the executive team that led the sale of the company to OptumHealth.
Melinda Henderson, MD, is a board certified Internal Medicine, Geriatric and Hospice & Palliative Medicine physician. She is experienced in Medicaid and Medicare managed care and is a fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and a Certified Medical Director with the Society for Post-Acute and Long Term Care Medicine. She is committed to improving care for individuals as well as improving systems of care for populations through evidence-based and high-quality approaches. Previous leadership roles include Senior National Medical Director for United Healthcare and Executive Director of United Healthcare’s Tennessee Long Term Care program.
Nick Balog brings more than 30 years of population health, physician practice management and health system experience to his role at PopHealthCare. Most recently, he was CEO at WhiteGlove Health, where he focused on mobile nurse-practitioner-delivered care to high-risk individuals. Before that, Nick was Vice President at The Advisory Board Company, where he was instrumental in obtaining a $20MM Centers for Medicare Medicaid Innovation Award to transform a state’s health care system, established Medicare Shared Savings Programs, patient centered medical homes, and created a population health business plan for a major academic integrated delivery system. His experience also includes senior management positions at Healthways and PhyCor, where he contributed to the hyper-growth of both organizations. Nick has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island; a Master of Public Health degree from Yale University and attended The General Manager Program at Harvard Business School.
Carl Smith, Senior Vice President of Revenue Adjustment Operations, leads risk adjustment analytics and retrospective chart review operations at PopHealthCare, where he manages the team responsible for customized financial analysis and forecasting, efficient chart collection and accurate coding services, and file production for RAPS, EDPS and EDGE Server submission. With over 25 years of experience in health plan finance, Carl has held management positions at both health insurance companies and actuarial consulting firms. Immediately prior to joining PopHealthCare, he developed and managed the risk adjustment analytics team at Florida Blue, Florida's Blue Cross and Blue Shield company; this business unit has been highly successful in both ACA and Medicare Advantage. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He graduated from the Wisconsin School of Business and co-authored “Predictive Modeling in Post-reform Marketplace” (published in the 2013 Transactions of the International Conference on Health Information Technology Advancement).
Andre Barroso, Senior Vice President, Information Technology, has over 18 years of experience managing both operations and IT for healthcare and managed care organizations, focused on evolving and transforming business intelligence/information technology from a requirement to a true partner for operations and clients. Previously, Andre served as Vice President, Information Technology for both Maxor Pharmaceutical and INSPIRIS.
As Vice President of Human Resources, Angela Briggs-Paige, CMBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, leads Human Resources, where she is responsible for developing and directing PopHealthCare’s strategic people initiatives. Angela has more than 20 years of experience in the recruitment, retention and development of talent that delivers business results. Prior to joining PopHealthCare, Angela provided strategic oversight and leadership of all HR operations including HR technology, service delivery, operational effectiveness, business process review, continuous improvement activities, technology strategy and staff coaching and development within communication and healthcare industries. Angela has an MBA with a concentration in Management & Strategy. She is currently completing her PhD in Human Capital Management from Bellevue University.
Susan Chaffin, Vice President of RiskSight, is responsible for supporting a variety of strategic initiatives, including all Risk Adjustment activities related to Medicare and the Health Insurance Exchange sectors. Susan started her career in the information technology arena serving both the telecommunications and healthcare industries with both insurer and services experience. While serving in the insurer sector, Susan led the teams that supported the creation and implementation of strategic plans pertaining to risk adjustment, HEDIS, STARS, Medicare bids, and health management for a Medicare Advantage plan. Susan has also acted as the product owner for all Medicare Advantage revenue management products where she was responsible for the establishment of a retrospective review program. Susan has Bachelor of Science degrees in Marketing and Computer and Information Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an MBA from Samford University.
Steve Stubblefield, Vice President, Infrastructure & Support, has over twenty years of experience delivering innovative technology solutions with a healthcare focus. At PopHealthCare, Steve is responsible for IT infrastructure, systems and applications, as well as technical service and support. Previously, Steve held positions within healthcare organizations where his responsibilities included leading the effort to develop and deploy a custom electronic medical record (EMR) system, as well as managing teams of engineers and support staff responsible for the deployment and management of custom healthcare technology systems located across the county in over 2,500 hospital, clinic, and data center locations.
